PAUL POTTER'S UFO DRIVE CONCEPT

After reading Frontiers of Propulsion Science, I thought I saw some similarities between Potter's ideas and those proposed by proposed by Mead and Nachamkin (Frontiers of Propulsion Science, Pages 572-573). However, Potter disputes this, as will be elaborated upon below. It is evident that the Kremlin has an interest in this article because it was accessed by Kremlin IP address 83.237.106.233 there (Organization ZAO MTU-Intel. AS Number AS8359 MTS PJSC) at Sunday Dec 6, 2015 15:53:49. This access may have been because of their interest in Potter, or it may have been because paragraph 19 below names three Russian scientists (and one Polish Scientist) who may have been involved with back-engineering UFOs in 1960. I mention their IP address here because the Russians have, in conjunction with links to my web sites, published my home phone and address without requesting permission from me to do so.

POTTER’S DENIAL. When I first published the suggestion that the sphere’s in Mead’s patent looked a lot like those in Potter’s book, he sent me the following e-mail:
Hello again Barry… See attached the new versions (in PDF) of Meholic’s paper, he says its for public consumption so you are quite at liberty to publish it on your website. I took the liberty of asking him to update the Onion Drive reference last year and as you will see he has kindly done so. The Onion reference is on p42 and in the biblio on p64. Oh, by the way, can you please clarify on your web pages that IN NO WAY is there ANY CONECTION WHATSOEVER between my explanation of the Dalnegorsk UFO’s power spheres and the Mead-Nachamkin beat-frequency spheres – other than the fact that they are both spherical! There is no similarity in principle no similarity in material construction no similarity in frequency applied or resultant no similarity in size no similarity in electronic circuitry no similarity in output. At this moment they are UNIQUE unto themselves, and NO-ONE on this earth combines thin-wire metamaterial SOL-GEL electrochemical construction with iron-lanthanide ferroelectric electron emitters (and certainly not in such a large volume as with the Dalnegorsk UFO spheres). I do wish you’d read what I have published in “Gravitational Manipulation of Domed Craft” rather than writing your own fantasies that seem to be written by you to fulfill your own particular agenda (whatever that is, be it for misinformation or self-aggrandizement). Such fictitious and perhaps libelous claims that you are making about me using ANY technology derived from the Mead-Nachamkin patent in my book is clearly defamation of the advancements in technology that I have been at pains to portray in my book. Actually, the very reason why I wrote my book was because so many “experts” in the field of UFOs talk a load of nonsense most of the time for the simple fact that they DON’T BOTHER TO GET THERE FACTS STRAIGHT. You obviously haven’t bought my book yet and read it, have you, and you are working blind, right, hoping that you can guess what I’ve been writing about !?! Perhaps if you make the above mentioned amendment I will send you a copy.
Paul Potter
REVIEW OF POTTER’S BOOK.
Paul never sent me his book, however somebody else finally did on February 22, 2011. My conclusions are as follows:
1: This was not an easy book to read because its author claims to be an expert in multiple areas that (each) probably require the reader to have a Ph. D in to follow challenge him (or understand him) properly. Potter does not respond well to questions about his conclusions. In a Pre-emptive Statement up front on page xxx, he states,
"whosoever deigns to derogate any part of it (his study) in a non-constructive way will do so only in proportion to their own self-aggrandizing egotism and dilettante ignorance of the broadest possible acknowledgement of the great multiplicity of physical, astrophysical, electro-chemical, aero-dynamical, and electronic-engineering principles, cosmological dynamics, and of density-gradient mechanics presented in this study."
If Potter wants constructive criticism I would start here. If the book ever sees a second edition, it should be edited by a professional writer (preferably one with a proper scientific or engineering background).
2: The book really needs to have a glossary of terms. Potter tends to write with run on sentences, often with terms that are not familiar to people with good scientific backgrounds. As an example, a number of times Potter writes of Plasmon waves. A definition from Wikipedia states," Surface plasmons, also known as surface plasmon polaritons, are surface electromagnetic waves that propagate in a direction parallel to the metal/dielectric (or metal/vacuum) interface." But when first using the term in his book on page 137, we get the following 9-line run on sentence:
And looking at this another way, and again, especially concerning the lower dielectric spheres, though this self-induction process, at a molecular level, there will be self-induced from these reversals of phase transitions (that will affect polarity reversals throughout the dielectric material) a corresponding movement of electric charges as phonon transportations of energy, through that solid material; and these energy transportations will move in tune with the reversal switching to set up an alternating phonon resonance effect, or oscillating plasmonic response effect, with that dielectric material.
Without a glossary, the typical reader will respond with a “Huh?” If they have a real need to verify every such statement, they will be forced to constantly look up such new terms on-line. This greatly limits the potential appeal of the book. Potter struggles with an issue that I faced with my Ark Code book. Who is the audience? If the book is too technical, then only a very limited number of readers will truly comprehend what he is saying. However, that audience requires accompanying math or experimentation to back his claims. A wider audience still wants to read about experimentation, but also needs quick access to definitions central to his concepts. On the positive side, Potter does provide an extensive set of notes for each chapter at the back of the book, and plenty of artwork throughout. The notes (pages 433 to 528) are a much better read than the rest of the book, however much of the material there should have been moved up into the main body of the book to make the material flow better.
3: Mr. Potter's vocabulary is consistent with the fields that he addresses. I know this after reading Frontiers in Propulsion Science. However, at times I see remarks that I find scientifically questionable. Some of these will be addressed below. For example, on page 155 he indicates that a black hole's gravitational force will pull on hydrogen atoms more than on the electrons because they have 1,836 times more mass than the electrons. That's true, but while the force on an H atom may be greater, the velocity that an electron and hydrogen atom fall at will be the same. This is why a feather and a hammer will fall at the same speed on the moon where there is no air resistance. But Potter sees the mass imbalance ratio as a reason that gravitational influence upon a mass will be primarily communicated through a polarization effect. I am not sure how the polarization can occur if everything is attracted at the same rate due to gravity in a black hole.
4: It is not always clear why he is so adamant about his conclusions if he has not carried out experiments to replicate what he writes about, but he may possibly be involved in secret research somewhere that he has not yet chosen to elaborate upon.
5: In the front of the book there are thanks to other people discussed on my site, namely Jeff Savage, Rich Robson, and Warren York. There is a great dependence on descriptions of a UFO allegedly boarded by Betty Ann Luca. In fact, most of what he writes about is an attempt to explain what she claims to have seen, with many of her memories only produced with the help of hypnosis.
6: There are numerous references on pages 10, 60, 87-91, 96. 98-106, 109, 11-112, 121, 128-130, 141, 143, 145, 210, 220, 235, 347, 422-425, 466, and 497 to acoustic waves and their importance around the sphere sets on the bottom of one UFO type, but I'm not yet clear about what happens once the craft reaches the vacuum of space where, as the ad for the original ALIEN movie trumpeted, "No one can hear you scream." Perhaps these waves are only of significance for atmospheric operations, and they are superseded by other power sources in space. However, he does at one point discuss a mothership.
7: There are many parallels made between black holes and galaxies with respect to how they operate and how the UFOs operate. Yet clearly mass involved in forming black holes and galaxies is enormous. What Potter apparently wants to do is show how a related process can occur inside a UFO. As I wrote above, there is a heavy reliance on UFO abductee memories. He attacked Bob Lazar's (alleged) actual tinkering with a UFO at the S-4 complex in Area 51. He does accept Lazar's encounter, but he offers alternate explanations with what Lazar encountered - largely based on Betty Luca's (alleged) UFO encounter and memories retrieved through hypnosis.
8: There are numerous references on pages 133, 175, 184-191, 195, 197-198, 252, 363, and 474-478 to the Dalnegorsk UFO and to metamaterial found in the sphere's remains in its wreckage, but there are no references to this material by Bob Lazar in the chapter about him between pages 379 and 426. However, just as there are important differences between how helicopters and supersonic jet fighters operate, Potter attempts to describe various types of UFOs with completely different propulsion systems.
9: Many of the drawings based on Betty Luca's memories include a tall figure reminiscent of Jesus or some other spiritual being. However, the reported abduction experiences of most people include horrible sexual and/or physical abuse. These reports are not at all in line with beings that are here to help us. Page 371 refers to complicated surgeries and gestation-related operations carried out on female abductees. Potter discusses these abuses in terms of hope for miracles here because he says that quick healing is attributable to time-dilation and time-diminution events aboard the craft. He thinks this technique would be useful for medical treatments on Earth. On pages 361 and its Note 10 on page 519, he struggles to decipher the meaning of what Betty was told that the alien craft could opulate or deopulate. He seeks an understanding in terms of explaining why the exterior of the craft did not appear as big as the interior, but perhaps what Betty could not recall is the word copulate in conjunction with sexual abuse.
10: Chapter 7 is entitled Black Vortex of Immense (Silent) Power. I had hoped that it would explain the physics of producing a mini-black hole. Instead it was basically Betty Luca's recounting (via hypnosis) of the "cyclonic towel" (the mini black hole) as it was allegedly explained by the Greys (minus technical detail). Potter then uses her account of a disabled UFO to inform us that another UFO hovered above the downed craft to restart the black hole on the disabled craft, but details of how that happened are far from clear.This was perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the book.
11: Chapter 8 has a section (8.7) entitled On My Way Home After a Hard Night's Abduction... What is strange is not that it speaks about an abduction; but that while the title indicates it will give us Potter's memories, what follows is only about Betty Luca's abduction. There isn't a word about Potter's experience. Two possible explanations exist. The first is terrible or no editing, which seems plausible based on consistent spelling mistakes seen throughout the book (as an example, the words its and it's are always used incorrectly). The second possibility is that Potter wanted to tell what happened that made his abduction a hard experience, but he couldn't bring himself to do so. (see the next paragraph for why he might want to repress these memories). Therefore, he switched to the Andreasson Affair, and never returned to the title of Section 8.7. However, if that's right, it still equates to poor editing by Adventures Unlimited Press. In fairness to Paul, the editing problems have no bearing on his physics. The publisher did produce a good looking book, although at 583 pages, it is a heavy work in more than one way.
12: Most telling about Betty Luca's Alice-in-Wonderland-like experience is the statement on page 453 under Note 7. Despite claims that she was given, "the Royal Tour" of a UFO, Potter writes, "She would have to have gone through all the pain inducing physical examinations and procedures just the same as anyone else who has ever been abducted will testify. Numerous drawings rendered by Betty have been published which show some of the physical procedures she has had done to her, such as the Greys pulling her eyes out of their sockets and forcing a needle probe through the eye socket into her head (Andreasson Affair - Phase Two fig. 45)." Now, looking at what is given in paragraph 13 below about the real purpose of the aliens being to save many people from the devastating effects of the shock wave from a supernova, we have to ask if this is something worth believing. Any sane person would have to think long and hard about accepting aid from an unknown group who make a habit of pulling out our eye balls, injecting needles into our brains, or implanting our women with alien or hybrid embryos. On the more humorous side, I know gentleman who claimed that he was forced to copulate with a alien female. He said the joke was on her because he was shooting with blanks, having previously had a vasectomy. She robbed his memory of the event, but two Earth women who saw the incident during their own abduction told him that they watched it. There are actually many people who read this site who then write me about their abduction experience. I don't see any of them as having positive effects.
13: The book finishes with a warning, supposedly brought here by the aliens that their real purpose is to save many people from the devastating effects of the shock wave from a supernova (see my matrix on Betelgeuse going supernova in 2012). Supposedly they have massive ships in orbit to help us. If so, why abuse so many people? If there really are aliens here it seems more likely that they are on Earth to further their own agenda (probably to improve their own genetic shortcomings due to cloning) rather than to benefit us. Potter does briefly allude to his own abduction experience back in the 1950s, but there was nothing about him personally being shown the UFO propulsion plant. The supernovas he is worried about are WR 104 (8,000 light years away) and Eta Carinae (7,500 light years away). This is too far away to threaten us with extinction because the radiation will decrease at the rate of 1/r2.
14: On page 316 Potter begins a discourse under Section 10.4 (Dome's Curved Geometry Compresses the Wave-packets) as follows: "One might think that in the various designs of UFOs what constitutes the upper dome is merely used as nothing more than a curved surface that keeps the elements away from the crew. But I learned very early into this UFO field of study, through back-engineering the Onion-drive with Jeff Savage, in particular, that nothing in the UFO's design is perfunctory..."
When I read the above statement, it sounded like he was claiming that Jeff Savage was back-engineering a piece of actual hardware. I called Jeff about this on March 30, 2011. Jeff stated that had no such hardware, and that what he told Potter about was based only on his meditation. The two men met just once, for a period of approximately two hours. Therefore, the wording used by Potter is, at best, misleading.
15: The notes suggest that Potter is not just hallucinating. He is clearly discussing a large number of concepts that are out there in the specialties that he refers to. However his overconfidence about details of every aspect of UFO structure will at times cause readers to wonder if he is the victim of abduction that he claims to be, or a disgruntled alien who is trying to tell us about the superiority of his society's achievements. This last statement is my attempt at humor, of course. It is far more likely that he is simply overly enthusiastic about his conclusions.
16: Potter's book, as I indicated above, kept forcing me to look up terms that I was unfamiliar with (despite my teaching science for 30 years). The notes will force readers to expand their horizons (and vocabularies) in science. In fact, some of the vocabulary were useful to my son when he prepared to take the Physics Graduate Record Examination (GRE) in pursuit of his Ph.D. in solid state physics. Perhaps because he has now finished all his coursework and is a Doctoral Candidate A.B.D. (all but dissertation) he will agree to examine some of Potter's technical claims, but he has long viewed Potter's work as fiction. A quick look at Potter's index shows that he didn't discuss dark energy (which is 72 to 74% of the mass-energy of the universe) or dark matter (which, with dark energy, takes us to 95% of the mass-energy). If we on Earth don't know what dark energy really is, and if we are unsure of the exact nature of nonbaryonic dark matter, how can Potter be so sure that UFOs don't harness either of these into their propulsion systems? The answer seems to be that he has faith in the memories of Betty Luca, and she didn't tell him anything that led him to speculate about their possible role.
17: While I will not go into details here on every component of the UFO drive/s described by Potter, he does repeatedly describe a wave-packet of purely attractive gravitational force that (from a UFO's upper dome) that is sent down filament tubes. Specifically he claims that "if that wave packet can be projected away from the craft, then at some point, while the attractive force is amplified through the tube's smaller diameter, that amplified force will pull on the craft to move it. It would be like a bungee-jumper stretching a rubber bungee cord which develops a tensile force between the jumper and wherever the cord is anchored.... Only, in this case of the aaUFO its wave packets will be projected ahead of that craft and so their anchor will need to be developed at the forward end of the craft's stretching 'bungee cord...' That's obviously a tall order. The repeated reference to a filament tube raises a question about whether such a device might in any way be related to the fin-like structure seen on top of films that allegedly show the TR-3B.
18: While the title of the book deals with Gravitation Manipulation of Domed Craft, on Page 480 (Note 11) Potter states that he was "rather surprised when following the paper trail on gravitational wave detection to find that no gravitational waves have yet been found." This problem is common knowledge, so I was rather surprised to read about his surprise. When we do find these waves, then we will be in a better position to manipulate them.
19: ROSWELL WRECKAGE MISSED BY UNCLE SAM. On page 224 Potter alleges that only 99.9% of debris recovered from the UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 had been handed over to our Government. He claims a “small piece was secretly stashed away until 1996, when it arrived under mysterious circumstances in the mail at the offices of a U.S. radio station.” On page 227 he states that, "When (unnamed) physicists were given this metal fragment to analyze they reported back that it was made from alternating layering of magnesium-zinc and bismuth, with the bismuth layers (of 1-4 micron thickness) being sandwiched between several thicker layers (of 100-200 microns) of a magnesium-zinc alloy. Linda Moulton Howe, who carried on the research to find out more about this fragment, was told at the time by several metallurgical labs that they had never seen anything like it before and that no-one had any idea why it would have been structured in such a manner.” My son, David, now has his PhD in Condensed Matter Theory. Today, January 26, 2017, David informed me that he has the skill set to analyze this material further. But he would need to be hired by the U.S. Government to do so. The fact that I have written so much about this incident may dissuade them from hiring him although David has promised to honor a nondisclosure agreement if it were a job requirement.
I’ll leave it to the reader to see how Potter describes the use of this material. However, here I have some personal information that may pertain to the study of the metals making up the craft. When I first wrote this article I said that, "A number of years back it came to my attention that in 1960 there was the Third International Conference of Nondestructive Testing in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan." Since then I have decided to publish the source of the information received. It was from my father's deceased brother, Eugene Roffman. I tell his full story at two places. One of them in on this site at Roswell. This version includes a brief discussion of a Torah Codes article about the event. The other article is on my MarsCorrect.com site as Part 2 of an article about Dr. Gilbert Levin, who designed the labeled-release life-detection experiments on Mars landers Viking 1 and 2. That article does not include anything about Torah Codes.
Who (besides my uncle) were there in Osaka and Tokyo from the U.S. Defense Department or U.S. military? At least 13 men – one based at Wright Patterson where the Roswell craft and bodies were allegedly taken, two from Los Alamos where more wreckage was allegedly taken, and a few folks from areas that make atomic bombs (Oak Ridge, Tennessee) or hydrogen bombs. As stated earlier, there were three Russians there – Professor Dr. Mikhael N. Mikheev, Director of the Physics Metal Institute in Moscow; Pavel G. Mikhnevitch, Engineer, All-Union Material Institute, Moscow; Dr. Alexander D. Ivanov, Engineer, Radio Research Institute, Leningrad; plus a man from Communist Poland - Professor Dr. Ignacy Malecki, Director, Institute of Basic Technical Problems, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw. Professor Malecki was involved with acoustics (noise control.) Potter's index page points to sections dealing with Acoustic horizon (acoustic black hole, acoustic orbs, acoustic shaping, acoustic waves, and acoustoelectric effect (Phonon transportation). Like the Kremlin, NASA has also accessed what I write about this topic, though I will not include the full IP addresses to identify who they are.
What kind of time was 1960? It was the height of the Cold War, the year Kennedy would be elected, but still the Eisenhower Administration. If anything, U.S. military types involved in nondestructive testing should have been involved in back-engineering captured Soviet technology. But instead, they were meeting with the enemy to learn common skills. Why? I conjecture that we were concerned about a potential common enemy. It seems likely that these scientists carried out an analysis much like that written about by Potter; however I do not have their test results. I only know that the meeting took place and about who was there.
20: The notes are intriguing with respect to items like speculation about what brought down the Roswell UFO, but often to know whether the concepts on physics discussed are correct or not, the reader is left with no choice other than to follow the references. As an example, on page 476 (Note 16) he states:
“Pendry notes the electrons in a magnetic field through their extra momentum contribution (in classical mechanics) take on more mass than their positive counterparts, and after calculating those changes in the effective mass of both the electron and the proton as being equivalent (for aluminum atoms) to meff =2.4808 x 10-26 kg, Pendry then calculated that this figure equates to 2.7233 x 104 me (of electrons) and only 14.83 mp (of protons); so in other words their effective mass rations” (I think he means ratios) “are in the proportion of 2.7233 x 104: 14.83. Hence, the electron’s mass becomes nearly four orders of magnitude more than the proton’s mass! For the mathematics of this see [Pendry 1998] p.4."
The above reference having electrons so much more massive than protons is not, of course, the normal situation. Sir John B. Pendry was the chair in Theoretical Solid State Physics at Imperial College London where he was head of the Department of Physics (1998–2001) and principal of the faculty of Physical Sciences (2001–2002). So his standing is clearly solid. But what of Potter’s reference to Pendry’s paper (Low Frequency Plasmons in Thin-wired structures)? Page 4 states:
“meff =2.4808 x 10-26 kg = 2.7233 x 104 me (of electrons) = 14.83 mp.
The question is, are the above two quotations equivalent? Pendry’s has an equal sign, Potter’s does not. If we divide 2.7233 x 104 by 14.83 we get 1,836.345246 for a mass ratio. Wikipedia states that the mass of a proton is 1,836.15267247 times greater than an electron. The two figures are close. Pendry writes that “this is an enormously enhanced effective mass.” Earlier it is clear that he is talking about the new effective mass of electrons. But it looks like (given the number of digits provided by Wikipedia) that what he means by enhanced effective mass is only the increase from 1,836.15267247 to 1,836.345246. It does not look like the electron’s mass is nearly four orders of magnitude more massive than the proton’s mass.
Perhaps we are dealing with just poor editing, or a math mistake, or a misunderstanding that could be cleared up by asking Sir Pendry about what he meant. However, to really know if Potter knows his physics (and all the other fields where he claims to be an expert) we have to follow each claim to its source, as I have just done, and then understand the source. In short, it would take years to substantiate every claim made, assuming that we overlook all the Betty Luca material. In looking at the GRE Physics Test Practice Book, I see that to make a score high enough (about the 69th percentile) to be seriously considered by the California Technical Institute, a raw score of about 51 to 52 questions right out of 100 questions will do the trick. But that means that a genius can still miss 48 or 49 questions. Potter does not list his resume' in the book or on-line. Therefore, again, I can not understand how he can be so adamant about knowledge in so many fields, especially when relying so heavily on Betty Luca's memory.
21: THE ISSUE OF THE SPEED OF GRAVITATIONAL WAVES. On page 527 of Potter’s book Potter writes:
Note 16: It should be noted that Huntsville’s Ning Li does say, in her 1992 paper, that no physicist can substantiate whether or not gravitational waves do actually travel at light speed…”
Ning Li has apparently gone missing, but there is an account of some of her research history at http://projectavalon.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1785.
However, the theoretical gravitational wave is a graviton. And, like a photon, it would have no mass. Wikipedia states that
“In physics the graviton is a hypothetical elementary particle that mediates the force of gravitation in the framework of quantum field theory. If it exists, the graviton must be massless (because the gravitational force has unlimited range) and must have a spin of 2. This is because the source of gravitation is the stress-energy tensor, a second-rank tensor, compared to electromagnetism, the source of which is the four-current, a first-rank tensor. Additionally, it can be shown that any massless spin-2 field would be indistinguishable from gravitation, because a massless spin-2 field must couple to (interact with) the stress-energy tensor in the same way that the gravitational field does. This result suggests that if a massless spin-2 particle is discovered, it must be the graviton, so that the only experimental verification needed for the graviton may simply be the discovery of a massless spin-2 particle.”
Is Ning Li right about the light speed issue? In reading MODERN PHYSICS for Scientists and Engineers (Third Edition, 2006) it states clearly and in bold print in the summary for Massless Particles (page 69) that Massless particles must travel at the speed of light. Here is how they got there (starting on page 68):
They first give the relation between energy and momentum as
E2 = p2c2 + E02 (Equation 2.70)
or
E2 = p2c2 + m2c4 (Equation 2.71)
The quantities (E2 - p2c2) and m are invariant quantities. Equation (2.70) correctly gives E0 as the particle’s rest energy. Either Equation 2.70 or 2.71 can be used to determine the total energy for particles having no mass. For example, Equation (2.70) predicts that the total energy of a photon is
E = pc (Equation 2.72)
The energy of a photon is completely due to its momentum (Planck's constant divided by the wavelength) and not at all to its rest energy (as its rest mass is zero).
To prove that the previous equations correctly predict that the speed of a photon must be equal to the speed of light c, they use Equation (2.65) and (2.72) for the total energy of a photon and set the two equations equal.
