DarkSide Hackers From Russia Hit Our Oil Pipeline
This article is under construction on 5/14/2021.
The cyberattack against the U.S.'s Colonial Petroleum Pipeline was carried out by a Russian hacking group known as DarkSide. It is the axis term on the matrix below. At the same skip are OIL and ARABIC. There is an overlap of RUSSIAN and CHINESE at skip -1 that touches DarkSide. Since ransomware was used in the attack I looked for RANSOM. RANSOM is seen twice on the matrix. Finally, TO HACK shares a letter lamed with DarkSide.
STATISTICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MATRIX. The axis term is DarkSide . OIL and ARABIC are at the same skip but 5-letter ARABIC is much more significant than 3-letter OIL. However, the hackers have claimed to be apolitical and only out for money. This claim, of course, may be an attempt to hide their true agenda. Odds against finding ARABIC at a special case skip were about 267 to 1 without considering the ELS rank of the axis term. For OIL (2 synonyms) there was about a 46% chance to find one of the synonyms on the full 570-letter matrix, or a 36.7% chance to find one on the 420-letter matrix without ARABIC. was
