Pope Benedict on Thursday forcefully defended his wartime predecessor Pius XII against accusations that he did not do enough to help the Jews, saying Pius "spared no effort" on their behalf during World War II. I read the above claim in HaAretz on September 18, 2008. I know from personal experience that it is not true. This page documents why the above is a lie. For starters, during an interfaith custody battle for my older son, in 1984, the Catholic Church baptized him without my permission, and against his will. In response, I wrote all documents required to sue the Catholic Church for $6,000,000 unless they did something absolutely unprecedented - annul the baptism. The Church complied with my demand, and in exchange for a Release from Liability (posted below the first article), I received a letter from Archbishop McCarthy of Miami which annulled the baptism (posted to the right of the Release). The story was covered on page 1 on the Miami Herald on September 21, 1984, and in the New York Times and other major news publications on September 22, 1984. (Note: For the record, my son went on to acquire a proper Orthodox conversion. He is, to this day, a practicing Orthodox Jew.) Why did the Catholic Church cave in to my demands? How could I, as a Jew, then alter the doctrine of the world's largest Church? Simple, I merely brought into court (during the custody battle) New York Times articles posted below that dated back to 1933 when Hitler first took power, and the Vatican signed a Concordat with him. I wrote a fictionalized version of the story entitled A MATTER OF SPIRITUAL CUSTODY, but the real life events and the most damaging of the actual articles from the New York Times is shown first on the left below. POPE PIUS XII AND THE QUESTION OF ANTI-JUDAISM IT AS RELATES TO THE CONCORDAT WITH HITLER
Two days after reporting the delay of the ratification of the Vatican-Nazi Concordat, The New York Times reported on page 10 that the Concordat had been ratified. This article stated, “Nazi newspapers view the ratification as new proof of the stability of political conditions in Germany since Adolf Hitler took over the government and as a rebuke to foreign meddling. Less than twenty-four hours ago, the Nazis assert those meddlers proclaimed that the pact would be doomed by Papal veto.”

Hitler’s book, My Struggle, (Mein Kamph) was quoted on the Senate floor as follows: “If the Jew wins * * * his crown of victory is the death wreath of humanity, and this planet will once again float through the ether bereft of men. * * * When I defend my self against the Jews, I fight for the work of the Lord.”
At Page 344, “If at the beginning of the war, 12,000, or 15,000 of these corruptors of the people had been held under poison gas, just as hundreds of thousands of our very best German workmen * * * had to bear it in the field, then the sacrifice of millions at the front would not have been in vain. On the contrary, 12,000 scoundrels removed at the right time might perhaps have saved the lives of 1,000,000 proper Germans of value for the future.”
